Urgent update - Entry and Repair VIRMs 29 October 2013

It has been decided to discontinue with the need for repair certifiers to send water damaged vehicle files the the NZ Transport Agency for review and subsequest issue of the LT351W document.

Repair certifiers are reminded that they must follow the guidelines in the VIRM: Light vehicle repair certification for assessing water damage and if any deviation from these guidelines is to be considered, a full description of the justification needs to be provided in writing to the NZ Transport Agency.

Entry certifiers will no longer need to sight a copy of the LT351W document but should satisfy themselves that the LT308 identifies that water damage has been assessed and has been signed off by the repair certifier.
