From 1 September 2027, all NC class vehicles with a cardan shaft park brake (CSPB) must pass a roller brake machine (RBM) test to get a certificate of fitness (CoF).

 

The manufacturer’s safety recall of affected Suzuki Fronx vehicles in New Zealand has now been completed and the advice not to carry back seat passengers can be ignored. If you get any questions from customers, ask them to contact Suzuki directly.

The Director of Land Transport (the Director) has decided to extend the modified cabs class exemption for another 3 years.

The new cardan shaft park brake warning label is now available to order via the NZTA/Bluestar portal.

From 19 May 2026, the certificate of fitness vehicle inspector application form, which is currently a PDF form, will be available as an online form. It has been added in to the existing online WoF vehicle inspector application form.
