List of changes
Note: This VIRM update is electronic only, no printed pages will be issued.
This amendment covers changes to the Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Lighting 2004 relating to forklift lighting, and to the Land Transport Rule: Glazing Windscreen Wipe and Wash and Mirrors 1999 relating to stickers on motorsport vehicles. These changes came into effect on 1 November 2012.

Table 5-1-6: permitted modifications – Added that stickers fitted to the rear and rear side windows of MA class vehicles may be fitted outside 100mm of any edge if the stickers are required for motorsport purposes (such as competition numbers), and the vehicle has a valid motorsport authority card. |

New Lighting Rule changes now mean that forklifts are only required to have registration plate lamps and, if likely to be operated at night, headlamps (or work lamps) and rearward-facing position lamps. The mandatory requirements for end-outline marker lamps for forklifts over a certain size or weight are unchanged. Forward-facing position lamps and rear reflectors are no longer mandatory. |
