Rechecks under the traffic light system - stop clock now phased out

Rechecks under the traffic light system

When New Zealand first moved into the COVID-19 alert level system Waka Kotahi introduced a ‘stop clock’ system to allow vehicles in areas operating under level 3 or 4 restrictions an additional grace period for recheck inspections following a WoF, CoF or entry certification fail. With the introduction of the traffic light system (COVID-19 Protection Framework) this stop clock system is no longer in place and has been phased out.

Any vehicles previously operating under the stop clock process that were not reinspected whilst this process was in place now require a full new inspection.

In the event of further lockdowns this process will be revisited.
