On 1 November 2026, changes to warrant of fitness (WoF) and certificate of fitness (CoF A) frequency and inspections will come into effect. New VIRM content has been developed and is now available to preview.

Following our recent email about changes to WoF and CoF A from 1 November, which included ADAS check sheet changes, we have received requests from check sheet providers for more time to use their remaining stock of current paper check sheets.

On 1 November 2026, changes to warrant of fitness (WoF) and certificate of fitness (CoF A) frequency and inspections will come into effect.

NZTA has issued a position statement that clarifies when a heavy vehicle's recorded gross vehicle mass (GVM) may be changed, and when it must remain unchanged.
