From 1 March 2019 the NZ Transport Agency will not accept vehicle inspector applications endorsed by the inspecting organisation.

The NZ Transport Agency has extended the expiry date of all unused vouchers provided to the owners of vehicles previously inspected by suspended WoF providers, and is strongly encouraging them to get their vehicle’s Warrant of Fitness (WoF) rechecked free of charge.

On October 15 the NZ Transport Agency announced that an extensive review of compliance files is underway and that it is toughening up its enforcement regime. An increase in the number of suspensions and other legal action is expected to follow as a result of review findings.

This follows a continuing, independent review of vehicle certification files and the recent discovery of significant non-compliance within the industry.
