The NZ Transport Agency has issued an update to the seatbelt and seatbelt anchorages sections of the in-service and entry VIRMs.

On October 15 the NZ Transport Agency announced that an extensive review of compliance files is underway and that it is toughening up its enforcement regime. An increase in the number of suspensions and other legal action is expected to follow as a result of review findings.

Today the NZ Transport Agency announced a major overhaul of the way it regulates all vehicles on the roads and licenses people working in the transport sector. This follows a continuing, independent review of vehicle certification files and the recent discovery of significant non-compliance within the industry.

A stretch cargo net of reasonable quality would be sufficient to meet the requirement of safely securing items of cargo likely to be carried in a small passenger services vehicle.

Associate Minister of Transport Craig Foss has signed the Vehicle Dimensions and Mass Rule (VDAM) 2016 and it comes into effect on 1 February 2017.

The new technical bulletin Used imported vehicles from Japan – disconnected airbags at WoF inspection comes into effect on Wednesday 19 October 2016 to address in-service inspections of vehicles subject to the worldwide Takata airbag recall. Includes link to pamphlet for customers.
