10 March 2025 VIRM amendment in effect

The 10 March 2025 VIRM amendments are now in effect.

Please make sure you are familiar with the changes that are relevant to you (and remember to update your QMS/PRS Technical information record).

VIRM: In-service certification (WoF only)

This amendment includes changes:

  • that allow for the use of electronic check sheets
  • that allow for the recording of the WoF label serial number on the electronic check sheet.

This amendment includes changes:

  • that allow for the use of electronic check sheets
  • that allow for the recording of the WoF label serial number on the electronic check sheet
  • to remove ambiguity between certifications carried out prior to 2005 and those that now require certification from 1 January 2025
  • to include the updated New Zealand Standard 5446: 2024 - On-road heavy vehicle towing connections - Drawbeams and drawbars.

This amendment includes changes:

  • that allow for the use of electronic check sheets
  • so that unmodified used vehicles manufactured for the USA don't need to meet frontal projection standards
  • to incororate UK (post-Brexit) type approval.
