19 October 2018 seatbelt amendment - effective immediately
The NZ Transport Agency has issued an update to the seatbelt and seatbelt anchorages sections of the in-service and entry VIRMs.
Vehicles with three-point seatbelts imported and distributed by BVL (Business Ventures Limited) and manufactured by Changzhou BWD, China should be failed for WoF and CoF, and entry certification should not be completed.
The change is effective immediately and is live in the VIRMs now. Click on the links below to view the changes.

- 7-5 Seatbelts and seatbelt anchorages (VIRM: Entry certification)
The Transport has also issued a safety alert advising vehicle owners who have retrofitted seatbelts to check the seatbelt labels following safety concerns.
