VIRM: In-service certification

Summary of changes:

  • Vehicle inspectors (VIs) no longer need to notify the NZ Police if they think a VIN has been tampered with (VI still have to notify Waka Kotahi though).
  • A change in what must be entered if an odometer is unreadable.
  • Clarification of the winter tyres definition.
  • Aligning the wording about the number of seatbelts required in a motorhome with the Rule.

Summary of changes:

  • Vehicle inspectors (VIs) no longer need to notify the NZ Police if they think a VIN has been tampered with (VI still have to notify Waka Kotahi though).
  • Clarification of what a disability vehicle is and specify who can record it as a disability vehicle.
  • Certifiers must enter the site authorisation number in the Reference field on the VIN Authority Allocation/Confirmation screen of LANDATA.
