30 April 2024 VIRM amendments available to preview

The 30 April 2024 VIRM amendments are now available to preview. You can view the changes in a single document by clicking the relevant link below.

These changes are driven by an amendment to the Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Exhaust Emissions 2007. Other parts of the VIRMs will be affected, but we're starting with the most important content and will work through the rest. We'll continue to communicate further changes to the impacted audiences.

VIRM: Entry certification

Summary of changes:

• Extensive changes to our emissions requirements guidance, primarily 11-2 Exhaust emissions and Technical bulletin 28.
• Removing Reference material 43.
• Minor changes to supporting pages.
• Removing some wording about quarantine from 1-10 Vehicle rechecks, to align with the VIRM: Light vehicle repair certification.

Summary of changes:

• Updating tables and definitions on 2-1 Standards compliance.
• Shifting the definition of new model and existing model vehicles on that page to a separate note.
